The "Ask a Question" tool allows users to engage in a natural conversation with Contesimal AI to clarify content, expand on ideas, or explore next steps. It is built to help users organize, contextualize, and monetize their content by unlocking deeper value from each session. Whether it’s for researching guests, refining ideas, or saving insights, this feature provides a fast and intuitive way to derive more utility from content.

This feature supports Contesimal’s mission by:

Letting users refine and expand on AI-generated ideas.
Providing a bridge between user curiosity and organized, actionable content.
Encouraging iterative improvement through conversational adjustments.

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1: Navigate to the Session Chat Bar

Open a session (e.g., "April 2025") from the Sessions sidebar.
The session opens as a thread with all previous conversations and AI answers preserved.

Step 2: Use the "Ask a Question" Field

At the bottom of the chat interface is a prominent "Ask a Question" input bar.
Click inside the input bar and type your question.
Select the Documents icon inside the input bar to search your document library, or select the Globe to search the public internet.

Step 3: Submit the Question

Press the paper airplane icon on the right or hit Enter to submit.
The AI processes the question and generates a new answer.

Step 4: Engage with the Answer

The new AI response is added to the thread.
You can then:
- Click “Good Answer” to approve.
- Click “Say More” to expand on the idea.
- Click “Adjust This Question” to refine the original query.

Step 5: Save or Annotate the Response

Use the icons next to the AI answer:
- ✂️ Snippets: Cut/save a portion or full message for future use.
- ? List Item: Add to your saved list (visible in the right sidebar).

Step 6: Explore Further

If the answer isn't quite right, Contesimal will prompt:
“What would you like to know that you did not learn in the answer provided?”
This leads to a revised input bar to refine your question (as shown in later screenshots).

Troubleshooting & Solutions

Issue	Cause	Solution
AI answer doesn’t match expectations	Vague or broad question	Use “Adjust This Question” to provide more context or specificity.
No results or weak suggestions	Lack of context in the session	Try reframing the question or specify session details (e.g., topic, theme).
Can’t find previous suggestions	Forgot to save a snippet or list item	Use the ✂️ or ? icons immediately after a good response to save key data.
Red padlock next to a re-submitted question	Question is pending AI response or was altered in the feedback prompt	Wait for system processing, or retry the question in the main chat bar.
Wanting external references (e.g., links)	Initial question didn’t ask for links	Re-ask the question and specify that you want links to websites or social profiles.
